Two weeks ago I introduced rhyming to my students. I did so with this catchy song! The kids love it and to continue practicing our rhyming skills we sing our song throughout the day and plug in two words that rhyme. For example, getting ready to go home, I may begin singing and students join in with me. The tune goes along to the song "Do Your Ears Hang Low?"
I love this. I teach Pre-K and I usually do a spring unit on nursery rhymes. I introduce rhymes with Dr.Seuss on his birthday in March. This year I have a musical class and everyone is eager to learn. This is perfect to start with them in a few weeks. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute poem, thanks for sharing! My students this year love to sing, this poem is catchy and I think they'd love it. I am going to try it with them when we meet in our circle area, especially to reinforce fluency!
ReplyDeleteWe should start a wiki just for sharing charts. Pinterest has awesome charts too. Thanks for sharing this - the use of familiar songs has been powerful for teaching rhyming.
